First and foremost, this page is currently a forum for discussions and views on the recommendations to be made from the LINGAD 2007 Conference. The recommendations we're all working on is a draft version. This is NOT the final version that will be sent out, so we can all edit these pages as much as is necessary. The final version is now being written up by the drafting committee, but you can still continue to use this site to continue discussions about all these topics.

 

A final version of the letter will be posted on this website and emailed to you (please leave your contact details on the Other Contacts page)

These final recommendations will be put into a letter written by the Drafting Committee and sent to by the end of October (please add):

HREOC, Federal government, state and territory governments, Mick Dodson, Pat Dodson, United Nations, National Indigenous Television, ABC (TV and Radio), SBS, Foundation for Endangered Languages, FATSIL, AIATSIS, Senator Helen Coonan (Minister DCITA), Peter Garrett, Jenny Macklin (Labor Party shadow ministers), Mal Brough (FACSIA), Dept Edu - including ministers, advisors and senior policy makers at state and Federal levels. PLEASE ADD

Media owners (SBS, ABC, etc.) will be sent media releases instead of an actual letter.

Secondly, this website is for all Aboriginal language people to work together, share ideas, develop exchanges programmes, discuss language matters and be able to contact each other quickly. Please send me your details and I will make a page for them in the contacts list on the SideBar.

We all work in our different areas with the same goal, but we need to share our ideas and support each other which will enable us to become stronger as one voice.

We can use this website as a place to also prepare ourselves for the next Indigenous Languages conferences.
